About Ryan

Ryan started working at Art for the Soul and found an immediate connection to the store, the art, and all of those who set foot inside our shop. After 6 years of working at the shop, the opportunity to take ownership of the store was presented to him and without hesitation he accepted the offer.

Ryan jumped in. All in. He didn’t know any other way.

He brought a new found energy to the shop and attracted new artists to showcase and sell their work through him. The energy was contagious.

On January 5, 2019, Ryan was involved in a horrific motorcycle accident on the 73 toll road not too far from the shop. Ryan did not survive the accident and the news of his death spread through our small beach community. But don’t be sad…that’s not how Ryan would have wanted us to be. Instead, let’s spread joy, kindness and a love for life.

So, again, a new chapter began.

While many thought the store might close, Ryan’s mom and dad stepped in and decided that the shop would forever remain open in Ryan’s honor. That energy and love that Ryan infused into the store and those around him was infectious. It’s a tangible feeling as you walk through the purple storefront.

So the next time you are in Laguna, stop in. Say hello. Stay a while. Take a look around. Even if just for a quick moment, you will feel it for yourself…and know that you are forever connected to this special place.

Much Love.
